Episode 59: PTSD, neuroception, and mormonism

This week, Cari and Kelsae discuss post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and how it pertains to the ex-Mormon experience (hint: all cult survivors have trauma!). Sisters Cari and Kelsae (but mostly Kelsae, let’s be real, yay for MSWs!) discuss symptoms, brain chemistry, and one special part of your brain that may interpret your history of trauma as meaning that you are in danger only all the time. Join us on this journey, though lo, it is fraught.

Love what we do and want to help support the show? You can join our super exclusive CLUB FUCK PACKER on Patreon by pledging $1+/mo. Our current goal is $150/mo, which covers our podcast and website hosting fees, our mail box rental, and will allow us to set aside the extra to save up for some super-fucking-fancy new recording equipment! We've got our eyes on two mics (so we don't have to keep yelling into the one), a digital recorder, and some cords/stands/etc. to make the whole thing work together.

Club Members! We have stickers to mail you! Keep an eye out for a message through Patreon requesting your mailing address. Stickers are first come, first served! JOIN OUR CULT!

You can also send a one-time donation via PayPal. Every dollar helps us keep the show going.
